Late-night host Jimmy Kimmel isn't buying Tucker Carlson's recent U-turn, where he apologized for supporting President Donald Trump and misleading people. After Carlson, in his podcast, said he will be "tormented" for a long time for his actions, Kimmel still labelled him as a loyal maggot or MAGAt, before adding that he still believes that the conservative commentator is "still plenty nuts'.

Former Fox News host and presenter, and once a big supporter of Trump, recently made a 180-degree turn on his podcast, expressing regret for his decision to back the president. In a conversation with his brother Buckley Carlson, the broadcaster said, "I do think it's like a moment to wrestle with our own consciences. You know, we'll be tormented by it for a long time. I will be, and I want to say I'm sorry for misleading people. It was not intentional. That's all I'll say." Carlson further acknowledged that there were concerns about Trump’s character and temperament, but they were overlooked by supporters, including himself, as he believed there are "tons of people" who outperform their character.

Kimmel, on his show, started off his monologue by mocking Trump's comments of ending the Vietnam war "quickly and then made a segway into the topic, saying, "Trump has fallen out with many of his most loyal maggots (or MAGAts), including Tucker Carlson," before playing the clip of his apology. "That's big. I mean, Tucker Carlson apologizing for helping Trump get elected," Kimmel said. "I believe they call that liar's remorse," the late-night host then quipped. Kimmel then explained all the "kooks" were now breaking ranks including "Marjorie Taylor Greene, Alex Jones, Megyn Kelly, Candace Owens, and now Tucker." Kimmel went on to make jokes on the name of Carlson's brother, Buckley, claiming that is "as white as it gets". "Their parents were an ascot and a monocle," he joked.

Kimmel then cautioned the audience that if they were getting swayed by Carlson's apology, they shouldn't.  "But lest you think Tucker is a completely changed man, don't worry, he's still plenty nuts," he said before playing a clip from the same podcast where Carlson ranted against doctors, saying they were "the worst people in America".  The conservative commentator claimed all the "gynecologists" were in on the crime when they "murder a baby," while making a bizarre comparison to the violent criminal organization MS-13.  "Thanksgiving at the Carlsons' must be a barrel of laughs," Kimmel joked. He went on to add that he hopes when Carlson "shows up at an emergency room one day, all he hears from the doctors is this," before playing a compilation of Carlson laughing out loud hysterically. Mocking his laughter, Kimmel added, "Sometimes laughter is the worst medicine."

Kimmel then moved on to blast Trump again, calling him the "Rantichrist" as he discussed the president reading bible verses from the White House. He talked about the week-long event called "America Reads the Bible," where the White House has asked Americans to pray for an hour a week. "Oh, believe me, since he took office, we've been praying for at least that. It's done," Kimmel Joked.
