Legendary musician Nancy Sinatra slammed U.S. President Donald Trump on Tuesday, comparing him to a dog marking its territory. Sinatra had shared a video by Rep. Don Beyer, who said that he was introducing a bill that would halt the construction of the 'Triumphal Arch' and permanently end the project. Beyer argued that the 250-foot structure would block the view of the Arlington Cemetery from the Lincoln Memorial and the National Mall, and that it would also cause problems for air traffic.

"Hundreds of flights to and from Washington National Airport pass through this very airspace every day. A 250-foot arch and the cranes and other equipment used to build it will pose serious challenges and risks to air traffic," he said. Beyer claimed that the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) was supposed to study the impact and release a report about the same before construction began.

Sinatra, who shared the post, has been a vocal critic of the Trump administration, sharing several posts criticizing both officials and policies. She joins a large group of people who have serious concerns regarding the arch that President Trump has vowed to unveil on the nation's 250th anniversary.

Among them, Beyer, whose district includes Arlington Cemetery, wrote a letter on Wednesday to administration officials, expressing concern over general road traffic as well. "With the size of the project and the site's location between Arlington Memorial Bridge and Arlington National Cemetery, the proposed construction would have significant traffic impacts on my Northern Virginia constituents," the letter stated, as per the Washington Post. "My constituents and the residents and visitors who would be impacted by this project deserve consideration in this matter, and they deserve answers about how the actions of your departments would affect their lives."

In more complications for the proposed project, three Vietnam veterans filed a lawsuit against the government in order to halt the construction of the structure. Two of these veterans, Shaun Byrnes and Jon Gundersen, have not shied away from their scathing criticism of the President for giving this project the green light. "I'm just appalled at this massive vanity project," Byrnes said in an interview with CNN.

He also claimed that the arch project was given the green light without following due process. Gundersen echoed similar sentiments. "It was not cleared by Congress. It was not vetted by veterans. It is disgraceful for veterans. And it doesn't go through the normal process…it is the wrong arch in the wrong place," he said.
