Former Republican Representative and Trump loyalist, Marjorie Taylor Greene, went nuclear after a Democrat won the special elections for Florida House District 87, home to the President's Mar-a-Lago estate. On Wednesday, Greene took to X to criticize Trump for backing out on campaign promises and calling his allies "traitors" for releasing the Epstein files. Further tearing into Republican leaders, Greene warned that if the GOP kept up its ways, it could cost them dearly in the upcoming midterm elections.

Trump and Greene had a public fallout last year over several issues, including the release of the Epstein files, with the President repeatedly calling her a "traitor." Their feud eventually led to Greene resigning from Congress, and since then, she has strongly voiced her criticism of Trump and his policies. Reacting to the news that a first-time candidate, Emily Gregory, captured a key Republican seat, Greene delivered a stark warning. "Turning your back on your campaign promises, and many disgusting behaviors like calling one of your top allies 'traitor' for releasing the Epstein files and refusing to go along with MIGA, apparently has consequences," she wrote in her post on X. "26 is gone but keep putting Americans last and 28 will be too," she further warned.

On Tuesday, Emily Gregory reportedly won 51.2% of the votes to defeat Republican Jon Maples, the candidate endorsed by the President. The "red ruby" district, which Trump won by 11 points, was formerly held by Mike Caruso, who had won the re-election by a 19-point margin. After Caruso vacated the seat to become the Palm Beach County Clerk and Comptroller, the special election was conducted this week, where the GOP suffered a humiliating loss. "If Democrats can win in Trump’s own backyard, we can win anywhere," Democratic National Committee Chair Ken Martin said in a statement, reacting to Gregory's win.

Greene went on to share another post highlighting how Democrats have flipped several key state legislature seats in special elections held over the past year. She claimed that when she led the GOP on the campaign trail, all they did was "WIN WIN WIN", and blamed President Trump's policies and the "pointless" Iran war for the shift in sentiment. She slammed Sen. Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), Mark Levin, Laura Loomer, and other top Republicans as well for what she called "leading Republicans into the slaughter before the midterms." She called the three conservative leaders the "BEST political consultants" for the Democratic party, and the "trash" that the party had previously thrown out.

The former Congresswoman has frequently criticized the President's foreign policy moves ever since she resigned. However, her former party members haven't taken her words seriously. When asked about her comments, White House spokesperson Davis Ingle told The Independent that Greene "quit on her constituents and the America First movement in the middle of her term," and that the Republican party has no time for quitters.
