Former congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene launched a scathing critique of President Donald Trump on X on Friday, as she claimed that there was a civil war brewing inside the Republican Party. Greene's comments came days after Rep. Thomas Massie was beaten in the Kentucky primary by Trump-endorsed former Navy SEAL Ed Gallrein. Greene reiterated her claim that she and Massie suffered consequences for going against the President's policies, even if they were not what he had promised earlier.

"After taking the hard principled stand against war with Iran in June 2025 and releasing the Epstein files, the neocon-controlled Republican establishment, now backed by the President, set out to destroy us," the former Trump ally wrote. "Thomas and I took two different routes but ended up in the same place, which delivered a message to our colleagues to never go against the President even on issues he himself promised to do and at the same time delivered the louder stronger message to the American people that no matter what they say on tv, rally stages, committee hearings, campaign ads, or stump speeches, Republicans and Trump have overwhelmingly rejected America First."

Greene said that despite championing Trump for several years, her release of the Epstein files and lack of support for the Iran war made her a "traitor" in the eyes of the President. She also claimed that the administration's policies only served "their donors like a 10-year moratorium on state rights to regulate and make laws on AI and data centers." The former congresswoman added that while she resigned out of concern for herself and her family, Massie had chosen to continue fighting, and ultimately paid a high price.

"But Thomas stayed in the fight, and they slaughtered him with tens of millions of foreign donor dollars that fueled lies, slander, character assassination, and even broke their own laws to do it," she said. Greene accused "them" of branding the Kentucky representative as a "liberal Democrat," and creating AI-generated ads showing him in an intimate relationship with Democratic Congresswoman Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez.

Greene and Massie, along with others, took a boat ride in Costa Rica after the latter lost his primary. Reacting to the former congresswoman's post, the Kentucky representative claimed that the pair had discussed the future of politics in the country. "I'm optimistic that honest and principled people will follow in our footsteps," he said. Massie will speak at a pubic event in Wyoming next.

According to a USA Today report, Greene's former seat is currently held by Rep. Clay Fuller, who won the special election against Democrat Shawn Harris. The margin of victory, however, was a lot smaller than what Greene was able to secure. Fuller is a Trump loyalist, just like how the former congresswoman used to be, and even referred to himself as a "MAGA Warrior" during his campaign. He will be up against Harris once again in the midterm elections in November.
