'The narcissistic nihilistic logic is this...': Ex-White House comms chief says Trump isn't loyal to GOP

Former White House communications director Anthony Scaramucci shared a dire warning to the Republican Party, claiming their leader doesn't care about them. Scaramucci, who served as assistant to the President for 11 days during Trump's first term, before getting fired, accused Trump of being too self-absorbed to do any good for his party. He claimed the leader of the GOP cares only about three things: money, attention, and self-aggrandizement, and he would leave the Republicans high and dry once he is done with the party.

In a post on X, Scaramucci shared the scathing remarks, calling the idea of Trump helping the Republicans win in 2028 a "bunch of malarkey." "Trump does not care if you lose. He does not care about your career, your district, your donors, or your family," the former White House official wrote. He went on to claim that the only person Trump sees as his successor could be Gavin Newsom, as it would fit his "narcissistic nihilist logic." "The narcissistic nihilistic logic is this: you were nothing before I got here, and when I leave, you'll be nothing again. That's the supreme narcissist’s final move. A Democrat winning in 2028 proves his point perfectly," Scaramucci explained. He alleged that Don Jr. has already said they want to be the richest family in the world before Trump leaves office, and only God knows what they're doing to achieve that goal. "So if you’re a Republican still betting your future on this man’s loyalty, understand one thing clearly. There is no loyalty. There is only the transaction. And you’re not the one getting paid," he warned.

The remarks come as Trump’s approval tanked to the lowest point of his second term. In a Fox News poll last week, 59% of voters said they disapprove of his job as president, and GOP control of Congress was in jeopardy. Furthermore, Democrats have picked up 30 seats in the last 15 months, while Republicans have won nothing. The latest sign of trouble came as Democrat Emily Gregory won a Florida special election to flip a legislative district in Trump's own backyard that encompasses his Mar-a-Lago estate in Palm Beach. The Iran conflict and rising costs of grocery and gas prices have added to the shift in sentiment, handing the moment to the Democratic Party for the midterms in November.

Meanwhile, Trump has maintained that the U.S. is winning the conflict in the Middle East and the economic and political impact of the war is totally worth it. "We had to cut out the cancer," he said during his speech last week, as per AP News. "The cancer was Iran with a nuclear weapon, and we've cut it out," he added. The President has also been laser-focused on getting the Safeguard American Voter Eligibility (SAVE) America legislation passed, which critics argue will prevent millions of Americans from casting their vote. Trump has made his reason clear to get the SAVE bill signed: "[Democrats] know if we get this, they probably won't win an election for 50 years, maybe longer." Meanwhile, the opposition has claimed it to be a voter suppression tactic that would disenfranchise millions of eligible Americans.
