Eric Trump rolls out logo for Donald J. Trump International Airport, sparks fresh debate
Eric Trump unveiled the official logo for the newly christened Donald J. Trump International Airport, following the Palm Beach County commissioners' approval of the trademark deal in a 4-3 vote. The new name takes effect July 1. The renaming of Palm Beach International Airport after the 47th president was signed into law by Governor DeSantis in late March, but it could only become a reality if the county had reached a deal with the president's family for the trademark.
For the first time, I am extremely proud to share the OFFICIAL logo for the Donald J. Trump International Airport in Palm Beach, Florida. There is no person more deserving of this incredible honor than @realDonaldTrump! Congratulations Dad!

The new airport logo, suggested by the Trump Organization, features an eagle holding two olive branches. Furthermore, it displays a crest shield over the bird's body with stars and stripes, similar to the presidential seal. The logo's gold colour has been a staple of Trump's aesthetic, from Mar-a-Lago to the White House's latest revamp.
The deal has already raised quite a few eyebrows as no other airport named after former U.S. presidents like Ronald Reagan or John F. Kennedy has a deal with their respective families, according to The Miami Herald.
The county has asked for $5.5 million to implement the name change, the report added. In other words, the money will have to come out of the pockets of Florida's taxpayers. It must be noted that Trump's companies will not stand to gain monetarily from the sale of Trump-branded items at the airport. They are, however, free to sell airport-branded items outside for profit.

Moreover, every airport store will have to buy the branded merchandise from a list of retailers approved by Trump's company. This may reportedly violate the Emoluments Clause of the Constitution. There is a provision in the agreement that gives Trump veto power over how his biography is presented at the airport. This means that any critical information about Trump will not find its way to the airport.
California Governor Gavin Newsom lambasted the business transaction on X, suggesting that it would be better for Trump to focus on ending his “reckless war” in Iran than indulging in vanity plays.
Gas prices are up over 50% since your dad started a reckless war in Iran.

Americans are reeling at the gas station, with average gas prices in the nation climbing to $4.53 per gallon, up nearly $1.50 since the start of the war in February this year. Not everyone was against the move. Transport Secretary Sean Duffy called it a "perfect tribute" to the President, who is "modernizing American skies and making flying great again."
