'Spare no resource': James Fishback vows to go after Epstein co-conspirators in Florida

Florida's gubernatorial candidate, James Fishback, has vowed to "spare no resource" in going after every co-conspirator of the late sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. Fishback, whose candidacy has come under scrutiny, said he will take a neutral approach and, regardless of their political affiliation, everyone who's implicated in the millions of documents released will be brought to justice if he becomes the 47th Governor of the state. 

"Let me be very clear. If I am elected Florida's 47th governor, I will spare no resource to prosecute every single one of Jeffrey Epstein's co-conspirators here in Florida," Fishback wrote in a post on X, sharing a video from outside the United States Courthouse. "I don't care if you're a Democrat or a Republican. You will be brought to justice," he added. In the video, he claimed that despite the Department of Justice releasing millions of files related to the disgraced financier, none implicated in those documents have been arrested, arraigned, or charged with anything. "That's because the powers that be will always look out for their own instead of looking out for the women who are abused by these predators," Fishback said. 

This comes after the businessman turned politician's candidacy was put to question by a lawsuit from Lt. Gov. Jay Collins, one of Fishback's opponents in the August 18 Republican primary. Collins alleged that Fishback's voting, tax, and property records showed that he did not reside in Florida for the seven consecutive years required to become a governor. A Leon County judge has heard the arguments, and a decision that could potentially change the dynamics of the gubernatorial race is awaited, as per a local Fox News affiliate.

Meanwhile, controversy surrounding the Epstein files erupted after Hollywood actor Alan Ritchson slammed President Donald Trump over his handling of the release of the documents. In an interview with the 'Happy Sad Confused' podcast, the 'Reacher' star launched an expletive-laden attack on the President, demanding the government release all the documents at once. He added that it would be his political agenda and that he could do the job if the administration is unwilling. "I would get those Epstein files out in two seconds," the actor said.

The White House soon came out in defense of Trump with spokesperson Abigail Jackson saying, "Just as President Trump has said, he's been totally exonerated on anything relating to Epstein," in a statement to Entertainment Weekly. "And by releasing thousands of pages of documents, cooperating with the House Oversight Committee's subpoena request, signing the Epstein Files Transparency Act, and calling for more investigations into Epstein's Democrat friends, President Trump has done more for Epstein's victims than anyone before him," the statement added.
