Attacking Donald Trump's claims of rigged elections, Senator Raphael Warnock accused the President of trying to "justify interfering" in the upcoming midterm elections. "We see what he is doing, and it will not work. Stay vigilant," the Democratic Georgia Senator, a longtime Trump critic, wrote in a post on X. Warnock could soon come into Trump's line of fire, as, according to the Washington Reporter, Trump might declare Georgia Senators Warnock and Jon Ossoff illegitimate due to fraud.

The President has alleged on multiple occasions that the election in Georgia during the 2020 vote was rigged, and has taken steps to overturn the result to no avail. Warnock, on the other hand, has only stepped up his accusation that the President was trying to interfere with elections, especially in Georgia. "Donald Trump is at war with our democracy, and Georgia is ground zero," he wrote in a separate post on X. "Mr. President, instead of attacking our democracy, why don't you do something about the high cost of gas, housing, and health care?"

Current and former Democratic members of Congress expressed concern, citing the Washington Reporter article. "This is insane.  INSANE," wrote former Representative Adam Kinzinger. "Record-breaking Ossoff and Warnock fundraising day incoming," wrote Rep. Maxwell Alejandro Frost. Democratic politician Melanie D'Arrigo claimed that there was going to be a "Sternly-worded letter, followed by fundraising texts," while serial Trump critic Rick Wilson claimed that both Ossoff and Warnock were more legitimate office-holders than the President.

Trump has asserted on several occasions that he would have won in Georgia in 2020 had there not been any election fraud. His claims, however, have come without any solid evidence. A recent poll conducted by Civiqs reveals that 58% of respondents were not in favor of Trump. Among young voters, aged 18-34, he was not favored by 68% of respondents. Even among those aged 35-49, 64% of respondents were not impressed by the President's performance so far.

The administration has taken several measures to look into election procedures and workers in Georgia ahead of the midterm elections, including sending more than 200 F.B.I. analysts to the state this week, as per The New York Times. A total of 260 investigative analysts were sent to a priority investigation in Fulton County. The county has been at the center of controversy of late, as in January, the FBI raided an election warehouse and seized over 600 boxes of election material, including ballots from the 2020 election.

The Justice Department had also issued a grand jury subpoena in an effort to get its hands on the names and personal information of thousands of Fulton County election workers in 2020. However, the subpoena was quashed by U.S. District Judge William Ray, as per Fox. "The district court's ruling that the probable expiration of statutes of limitations prevents the grand jury from investigating the 2020 election in Georgia is at odds with numerous holdings of the Supreme Court," the Justice Department said in a statement after the verdict was delivered.
