Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene continued her attack on President Donald Trump, this time criticising his statement about "wiping out an entire civilization" and urging his Cabinet members to invoke the 25th Amendment. "Not a single bomb has dropped on America. We cannot kill an entire civilization. This is evil and madness," Greene wrote in a tweet. Earlier, the former Trump ally had said that the President was "not a Christian, and his words and actions should not be supported by Christians." The statement was a reaction to Trump's expletive-laden Easter Sunday post

As Trump's deadline neared, while negotiations were reportedly continuing, the President said on Monday, "The entire country can be taken out in one night, and that night might be tomorrow night." He, however, added that he does not want that to happen. "A whole civilization will die tonight, never to be brought back again," the President wrote in the Truth Social post. "We will find out tonight, one of the most important moments in the long and complex history of the World. 47 years of extortion, corruption, and death will finally end. God Bless the Great People of Iran!" he added.

Criticizing the statement, Greene stated that Trump wasn't elected "to kill an entire civilization" in a war on behalf of Israel. "Trump was elected to go to war against America's deep state and to end America's involvement in foreign wars," she wrote. Greene also criticized Trump's plan to destroy civilian infrastructure like bridges and power plants if the Iranian leadership did not submit to his demands. "Trump threatening to bomb power plants and bridges hurts the Iranian people, the very people Trump claimed he was freeing," she said.

Greene isn't the only one calling for the 25th Amendment. Earlier, Rep. Melanie Stansbury (D-NM) had urged the Cabinet and her colleagues to invoke the 25th Amendment. "The emperor has no clothes. Time for the #25thAmendment. Congress and the Cabinet must act," she wrote in a post on X. Many others also criticised the President's Easter Sunday rant, with several lawmakers questioning his mental fitness. Under the 25th Amendment, the Vice President and a majority of the Cabinet hold the power to formally declare that a President is "unable to discharge the powers and duties of his office." If such a written declaration is submitted to Congress, Trump will lose his presidential authority, and Vice President Mike Pence, currently in Hungary, would take over as Acting President. Pence is currently in Hungary, extending the Trump administration's support to Viktor Orbán's reelection bid.
