Senator Mark Kelly slammed U.S. President Donald Trump for using election fraud as an excuse to distract people from his alleged failures on Thursday. Kelly's statement came after Trump alleged vulnerability in the U.S. electoral system ahead of the midterm elections and claimed that there was Chinese interference in the 2020 presidential election. The senator reminded that it was under Trump's presidency that the election was held.

"If Trump wins, it's a fair election," he wrote. "Does he realize the election he's talking about happened under his watch as President?" Speaking about the 2020 election, President Trump claimed that Beijing had obtained information about millions of American voters and undermined him during his first term. He also claimed that the election system was hijacked by foreign and Deep State elements. The President ordered the declassification of 270 pages of evidence, but as per the New York Times, it was not conclusive.

Kelly attacked Trump in a subsequent post, in which he pointed out the promises that the President is yet to deliver on. "Trump promised to lower costs, and prices keep going up. He promised no new wars, and now Americans are stuck in a war he started," he wrote, alleging the address to the nation was to distract the public from such matters. However, at the beginning of his address, Trump asserted that the country was in a better place and was respected globally.

"Before we begin, I'm proud to report that our country is safer, stronger, and far wealthier than it has ever been before. We are doing great," Trump said at the start of his address. "Less than two years ago, we inherited an economic and social disaster after the worst inflation in 48 years, the wide open borders with millions and millions of people pouring in from all over the world, including criminals of all types, and 11,888 murderers, many of whom killed more than one person."

Trump touted that unemployment had dropped in his administration and that inflation "saw the largest monthly decline in more than six years." He also praised the One Big Beautiful Bill Act for introducing tax cuts allowing families to save thousands. "No tax on tips, no tax on overtime, and no tax on Social Security for our great seniors, along with the interest deduction on a loan used to purchase a car, but only if that car is made in America," he added.

The President also hailed the Most-Favored-Nations policy, under which Americans were paying the "lowest price" for prescription drugs. "I was able to get the rest of the world and the pharmaceutical companies to act responsibly. Drug prices are coming down by 70, 80, and 90 percent," he said, before touting his administration's immigration steps, the success in the Iran war, Trump accounts, and several other key policies.
