Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene questioned the release of the White House shooter’s "manifesto" in an X post on Sunday. The shooter attacked the White House Correspondents' Dinner, but was not able to inflict any casualties. Before he carried out his plan, Cole Allen sent an email to his family, explaining his reasons for the attack. Greene, however, appeared to express scepticism on the shooter's motive, questioning his "manifesto."

"Most shooters' manifestos remain classified so they don't inspire more would-be shooters," she wrote on X. In a subsequent comment on her post, the former Congresswoman explained why she was against the email being made public so quickly. "But I want to know why the Trump admin released Cole Allen's manifesto immediately, but they still keep a tight lid on Thomas Crooks," she questioned.

Crooks had shot at President Donald Trump and damaged his ear at a campaign rally in 2024. Greene said that she was all for "manifestos" being released, but despite Crooks being dead, his one had not seen the light of day yet. "But a lot of info, including the manifesto of Cole Allen, who is still alive, gets released immediately," she said.

The former Congresswoman also questioned the President's security. The shooter had committed the crime only minutes after mailing the manifesto in which he criticised the security measures. "I've asked questions about the lack of security around President Trump before," Greene wrote. As per a report in CBS News, Allen wrote, "Ok, now that all the sappy stuff is done, what the hell is the Secret Service doing?…No damn security. Not in transport. Not in the hotel. Not in the event."

He also claimed that an Iranian agent could have walked into the event with a machine gun without anyone realising it. Since the incident, social media has been rife with conspiracy theories, as eminent personalities have had a hard time believing everything that went down at the White House. However, according to prominent conspiracy theorist Alex Jones, the shooting was not staged. Jones posted a video on X in which he claimed that the D.C. Police and Secret Service, in charge of security for the event, had very few corrupt individuals. Jones also brought up FBI Director Kash Patel as proof of the shooting not being staged.

"There's footage of Kash Patel out in the dark. He's all on his phone, not knowing what's going on, because they ushered him all out," Jones said. Patel recently appeared in a Fox News interview, in which he was quizzed on the security measures at the venue. "We're going to be talking about how we improve the security, not just for this event, but for all events going forward," Patel said. "We're going to learn from this one, and we're going to utilise President Trump's leadership and backing of the blue and law enforcement, and work with DHS to ensure our Cabinet, our protectees, and the American civilian population is as best protected as possible."
