"We used to joke the first time they'd get him in the moving van and he'd be sitting in the back... but he won't leave," De Niro said

"He will never leave. We’ll have to make him leave," legendary actor Robert De Niro said of President Donald Trump at MS Now's 'The Best People' as he expressed serious concern about the country's future. Talking to Nicolle Wallace, the two-time Oscar winner said that he is a "concerned citizen" and labelled Trump an "enemy of the country". "Everybody has to stick together to get them out and get back on track," De Niro said.

Responding to Wallace’s question on what story Democrats should tell "on the pro-democracy side?" De Niro said that the story "is our country". "And Trump is destroying it. And who knows what his reasons are, but it's sick. It’s F****d up.  We have to save the country. I have so much respect for Liz Cheney and even Dick Cheney—after I hated him for what he did—he did what he knew he had to. That's what it is. The country sticks together. The family sticks together when a crazy thing happens. Trump is the enemy of this country. It's that simple," he said.

De Niro flags 'cacostocracy' and the Donald Trump threat

The 82-year-old actor described the current administration as a "castocracy". "There's a word that I read in a column in the paper: Cacostocracy. And it's like, I said this must be some made-up name or something, but it's derived from the Greek meaning a crazy-ocracy, but of a regime or a person who's running the regime. It's totally crazy people who should not be there," De Niro said. When Wallace suggested that Trump's presidential tenure would end in three years, De Niro averred that Americans should not expect a peaceful exit.

"He ain't leaving. No way. We used to joke the first time they'd get him in the moving van and he'd be sitting in the back... but he won't leave. Let's not kid ourselves. He will not leave. It's up to us to get rid of him," De Niro said. Calling Trump an "idiot", De Niro asserted that "We got to get rid of him." "He's going to ruin the country," the actor said, adding, "Everything that this country has worked for, he is ruining it right before your eyes."

'What does someone that rich need?': De Niro questions Jeff Bezos, Elon Musk

The conversation took a sharp turn toward the influential figures in the private sector who De Niro believes have failed their civic duty. "Musk is just a joke; but a dangerous joke," De Niro said of the Tesla founder. He also took a swipe at Jeff Bezos, questioning his handling of The Washington Post, which he bought in 2013. When Wallace pointed out that Bezos has failed to protect journalists when they had the "FBI at their homes, or when firings took place", De Niro questioned, "What does he gain from that?"

"I can see where they all are trying to maneuver and get his ear," De Niro said, suggesting that they are failing to live up to their responsibilities. "They have a responsibility. They are the backbone of this country. They have to help save and protect this country. Believe me, you will be cheered by people if you stand up and do what you should do," he asserted.

Past clashes between Trump and De Niro

The animosity between the Academy Award winner and the President is a long-standing feud that has played out on global stages for nearly a decade. One of the most explosive moments occurred during the 2018 Tony Awards, where De Niro took the stage to declare, "I’m gonna say one thing: F*** Trump!" while pumping his fists to a standing ovation. This prompted a swift response from the President, who took to social media to call De Niro "a very Low IQ individual."

"Robert De Niro, a very Low IQ individual, has received too many shots to the head by real boxers in movies. I watched him last night and truly believe he may be “punch-drunk,""Trump had tweeted in 2018. More recently, in a post on Truth Social, the President called De Niro a "total loser." "He has become unwatchable both in movies, and with the FOOLS that destroyed the Academy Awards, bringing them from one of the top shows in the Country to a Low Rated afterthought," Trump wrote.
