Trump claims Qatar shares a walkable land border with Iran at the G7

Speaking alongside Qatar’s ruler, Emir Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani, at the G7 summit in France, President Trump suggested Qatar and Iran were so close that people could walk right across. The remark quickly drew online fact-checks, as Qatar and Iran are separated by roughly 180 km (112 miles) of water across the Persian Gulf.
