President Trump expects 'to be bombing' Iran as ceasefire nears end
A day before the ceasefire between the U.S. and Iran comes to an end, and a delegation led by Vice President J.D. Vance prepares for a second round of talks with Tehran, President Donald Trump has indicated that the American military might resume bombing Iranian targets. In an interview with CNBC's Joe Kernen, Trump said that he expects to be bombing Iran, because he believes it's a "better attitude to go in with."
"We are ready to go. The military is raring to go. They are absolutely incredible. I built the military in my first term; I am using it now," the President said before taking credit for rebuilding a "depleted military." "The military, when I took it over from Barack Hussein Obama, it was so depleted, so sad. And I built it in my first term," Trump said. "We did a great job with our military. We're using it now, and rebuilding it, too."
KERNEN: You're saying you need at least the prospect for a signed deal today or tomorrow or else you would resume bombing Iran?

President Trump also addressed criticisms he has been facing for dragging the U.S.A. into another prolonged war in the Middle East. Trump said that the United States had been stuck in wars that have lasted much longer, like the Vietnam War, which lasted almost two decades, and the more recent Iraq War, which lasted eight years. "I would have won Vietnam very quickly if I were President," he said and pointed at the U.S. operation in Venezuela. "I took it over in 45 minutes."
Addressing the Democrats, Trump singled out House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. "I don't want to be rushed by people who are really treasonous," he said. "I watch this low-IQ guy, Hakeem Jefferies, he's a totally low-IQ person. And he's always ranting and raving, 'Oh, this war is so terrible.' They shouldn't be saying that when we are in the midst of a negotiation because it does hurt us somewhat."

The President's statements come at a time when a U.S.delegation, led by Vice President Vance, is expected to travel to Islamabad, Pakistan, for the second round of peace talks, as per CNN. However, the chances of reaching an agreement look slim. After President Trump announced that the Strait of Hormuz was open for business, but allowed the American naval blockade to continue, Iran closed the Strait again. At the time of writing this article, it was still unclear whether Iran would be sending a delegation to Pakistan. The BBC quoted Iranian foreign ministry spokesman Esmail Baghaei as saying that the U.S. has shown a lack of seriousness and good faith by its constant "flip-flops" and "threats of war crimes."
