'Not going to survive 33 more months' George Conway calls for immediate removal of Trump from office
Lawyer and former Republican, George Conway, has called for the immediate removal of the president from office, claiming the American people "won't survive" another 33 months of his administration. Appearing on Molly Jong-Fast's podcast, Conway alleged that President Donald Trump was running a criminal regime that "acts only in his best interest" and for the U.S. to overcome the economic issues, he has to go. The anti-Trump Republican who quit the party in 2018 isn't alone in calling for Trump's removal', as a growing number of Democrats have taken measures to try to oust the president.
Speaking about his campaign for the upcoming Mid-Term elections, Conway expressed that he believes "we're going to see a blue tsunami". He added that the thrust of his campaign was to "get rid" of Trump as he was in the way of America's progress. "We have to impeach and remove him, and it's not separate from all the issues that we need to address on an economic level for people here in this district and elsewhere, because we can't accomplish any of that until he's gone, until this criminal regime that acts only in his best interest instead of the interest of the people," he said. He went on to add that "we're not going to survive 33 more months of what we've seen the past 15."

Conway has repeatedly called out Trump's policies in recent weeks, especially regarding the war in Iran. Reacting to Trump's announcement of a naval blockade of Iran and the Strait of Hormuz, Conway called it a move of a "pure stable genius," referring to allegations of the president not being mentally fit to be in office. Reacting to the move, Conway wrote: 'Blockading a blockade is the work of a pure stable genius as no one has ever seen before. Only @realDonaldTrump could have thought of this," in his X post.
After Trump issued threats of wiping out an entire civilization, over 70 lawmakers called for his Cabinet to invoke the 25th Amendment and declare him unfit to serve. On Tuesday, Democrats proposed creating a commission that would work with Vice President JD Vance to remove Trump. The measure introduced by Rep. Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House Judiciary Committee, seeks to establish a 17-member panel authorized under Section 4 of the 25th Amendment. The commission with members from both sides of the aisle will deliberate if the 79-year-old president is no longer fit to lead the country, and then consult the vice president to sign off on his removal.

“Public trust in Donald Trump’s ability to meet the duties of his office has dropped to unprecedented lows," Raskin wrote in a statement, mentioning the president's threats to Iran, the war in the Middle East, and his comments on the pope. While the bill co-sponsored by 50 Democrats is highly unlikely to pass in the GOP-controlled Senate, it has provided grounds for further measures and a push for war power resolutions to limit Trump's ability to launch further military strikes without Congressional approval.
