'Love the bluntness': Laura Loomer backs Trump after spat with Meloni spirals into diplomatic row
Laura Loomer, a far-right political activist and staunch Trump ally, threw her weight behind President Donald Trump following his public spat with Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni, saying she loved his bluntness. "He's completely in the right about this interaction he had with Giorgia Meloni. Everyone in politics is a user and/or an abuser, and Trump is calling this out on a global stage while restoring the concepts of loyalty and reciprocity to diplomacy. It's all so relatable too…We all know that type of person in our own lives," she wrote on social media.
Loomer was responding to a Truth Social post in which Trump escalated his feud with Meloni, doubling down on his allegations that she had repeatedly sought a photograph with him. "She is doing poorly in Italy with her level of popularity, possibly because she turned down the United States of America, a Country that truly loves and protects Italy, when it came to denying Iran from obtaining or developing a Nuclear Weapon," he contended.
Trump also took aim at Meloni's refusal to grant the US access to Italian airstrips during the Iran conflict, calling it a "great logistical inconvenience" despite Washington contributing hundreds of billions of dollars to protect Italy and other "so-called" NATO allies. "Now, after the United States defeated Iran militarily, she wants to be friends again in order to get her 'numbers up.' No thanks!!!" he added.

Meloni dismissed Trump's "constant, unprovoked attacks" as senseless. "As for my popularity, being your friend certainly has not helped it, nor does it depend on my relationship with you. My popularity depends on my ability to defend Italy's national interest," the 49-year-old countered. "Italy remains a sovereign nation. In any case, my popularity is none of your concern. I suggest you focus on yours," she asserted.
Leggo finalmente di una diffusa presa di coscienza di quello che rappresenta Trump per il mondo libero: una sciagura senza precedenti.

Ben svegliati, amici.
E ben svegliata, Presidente Meloni.
Ricordo che prima degli insulti inaccettabili a Meloni ci sono stati quelli a…
The spat has already drawn real diplomatic consequences, with Italian Foreign Minister Antonio Tajani cancelling a planned trip to the United States and calling Trump's remarks "serious and offensive" toward Meloni and all of Italy. Meloni, who was once considered one of Trump's closest European allies and the only head of state from the European Union to attend his inauguration in 2025, initially denied his accusations, calling the statements "completely fabricated" and sharply retorting: "Italy and I do not beg."
By taking ZERO shit from the most repulsive misogynist, bully, and pedophile on the planet — Italian prime minister Giorgia Meloni just become a heroine around the world. pic.twitter.com/3tZADNw9HE

Loomer has been a consequential figure in Trump's second term, placing a fierce premium on loyalty to the President. She reportedly recommended that Trump fire six National Security Council officials during an Oval Office meeting for not being sufficiently loyal, according to The New York Times, despite most of those officials having already passed the administration's own personnel vetting process.
