Joe Walsh calls out JD Vance after VP says Trump is a 'person of faith'
Former Republican congressman Joe Walsh slammed U.S. Vice President J.D. Vance's comments about President Donald Trump being a religious man. In an interview with Fox News, Vance had claimed that while the President did not wear his faith on his sleeve, he was a person of faith. He also claimed that the President acknowledged, on two occasions, the role of Christian voters who helped him become the leader of the country.
Utter fucking bullshit. And Vance knows it. https://t.co/36cUC7wZPw

"Utter f*****g b******t. And Vance knows it," Walsh wrote on X, sharing a clip of Vance's statement. Walsh isn't the only one who has, in recent times, questioned the President's take on faith. Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor-Greene claimed that the President was complicit in the killing of several Christians in Lebanon by Israel since he was not willing to do anything to help them. "He should stop all military and financial aid to Israel; that will stop them from slaughtering thousands of innocents," she wrote on X.
Proof President Trump knows Israel is murdering innocent people, children, and Christians in Lebanon and he’s doing nothing to stop it.

And Congress must not… https://t.co/dudZMfViqw
While it is true that a Christian voter base played a big part in President Trump getting elected to power twice, his recent policies, especially about the war in Iran, have left people in the community divided. According to a Reuters report, around half of evangelical Christians believe that the government's policies about the Iran war and immigration enforcement were not in line with their beliefs as Christians.
Around 54% of evangelicals in the June 3-8 poll said that America's use of military force in Iran was not in tune with their religious beliefs. Around 51% of evangelicals said that they did not agree with the government's immigration policies. However, according to White House spokeswoman Taylor Rogers, there has "never been a greater president for Christian Americans than President Trump."

According to The Christian Century, President Trump recently met with the Greek Orthodox patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, in the White House. The President was given one of the highest honors in the church, the Grand Cross of the Order of the Holy Sepulchre. After the meeting, Theophilos suggested that he could be a peacemaker in the Russia-Ukraine conflict, an idea that he claimed was backed by President Trump.
As far as Walsh is concerned, he has never shied away from criticising the administration. Recently, he criticised the peace deal Trump claims to have agreed upon with the leadership in Tehran. Recently, he compared the U.S. President to the former U.K. Prime Minister Neville Chamberlain, who gave away European territory to Adolf Hitler before World War II. "But that comparison is wrong because Trump is an idiot and a sociopath. He doesn't know he's surrendering, and even if he knew, he wouldn't care. He only cares about Trump," the former GOP congressman added.
