Jennifer Welch blames Trump for fueling 'cultural rot' in the US

"Trump is gonna die, or he's not gonna be in power; that's gonna happen sooner rather than later, but that doesn't fix anything," Welch said

Podcast host and Trump critic Jennifer Welch slammed President Donald Trump for embedding a "cultural rot" in the American people. Speaking on a podcast with Angie Sullivan, Welch claimed that Trump was the reason why some women were only focused on "finding a husband," and some men gave in to "toxic masculinity."

"Trump is gonna die, or he's not gonna be in power; that's gonna happen sooner rather than later, but that doesn't fix anything," she said. "There is still this cultural rot of a generation of men and women in this country. Women who are now thinking that their worth is only finding a husband and being a trad wife, and men who are feasting on a rising sense of toxic masculinity...He's made the country less moral, less just, and dumber, and that is what bothers me about the residue from this man."

Earlier this year, Vice shared a study conducted by EduBirdie, which showed that a majority of Gen Z women wanted to become a 'Tradwife' rather than a 'Girlboss.' According to the study, 47% of Gen Z women wanted to get married, be a homeowner, and raise a family. Such a life, as per EduBirdie, feels safer and more secure, and it also allows women to follow creative endeavors without burning themselves out.

"After years of being told to hustle harder, many [women] are just tired," Julia Alexeenko, pop culture and media analyst at EduBirdie, explained in a blog post. She claimed that research showed that Gen Z women are more marriage-oriented than millennials. The EduBirdie study received praise from President Trump's daughter-in-law, Lara, when she was asked about it on Fox News.

"There's this entire generation of young women who really did learn from the mistakes of their predecessors, as you're saying, for so long. There was this feminist movement that tried to push and tell us that we should all just put aside wanting to start a family. Don't worry about getting married, don't worry about having kids, you should solely focus on your career," she said.

The GOP is not the only political outfit Welch has criticised in the recent past. She warned the Democratic Party that its supporters were not happy with certain party leaders refusing to cut ties with the American Israel Public Affairs Committee (AIPAC). "When it comes to Benjamin Netanyahu and Israel, you're all smiles for a photoshoot," she said. "We are not stupid. That moral duplicity doesn't work with our base."

She also called on senior leaders in the party, like Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries, to "leave the party and call it MAGA lite," and praised leaders like Graham Platner and Zohran Mamdani for refusing to work with the Israeli lobby. Welch claimed that people wanted to vote for such leaders due to their authenticity.
