White House deputy chief of staff Stephen Miller on Monday unleashed a rant on Fox News after the U.S. Supreme Court sided against Republicans and President Donald Trump's administration to allow mail-in ballots that arrive after Election Day to be counted. The President's aide went scorched earth on the Democrats, claiming they would remove borders, ICE, DHS, and pack the Supreme Court with left-leaning judges if they win the midterm elections in November.

Voters are set to cast their ballots in the midterm elections in 10 months, and both parties are ramping up their campaigns for the run. Amid this, the Supreme Court on Monday ruled in favor of counting mail-in ballots that arrive after Election Day, upholding the law in over a dozen states. The move upset Republicans, including Miller, who claimed it would be game over for America if the Democrats manage to win the midterms with help from the decision.

"If the Democrats should regain power, it's game over. Twelve more justices on SCOTUS. Two new Democratic states. They're going to get rid of the Second Amendment. They're going to get rid of our borders. They're going to get rid of our police. They’re going to get rid of ICE, Border Patrol, and DHS. And they're going to elect communists," Miller said in the interview with Fox's Laura Ingraham.

The criticism comes after three far-left candidates backed by the Democratic Socialists of America won their respective races in New York. The candidates, Darializa Avila Chevalier, Brad Lander, and Claire Valdez, backed by NYC Mayor Zohran Mamdani, fueled debate over whether these progressive campaigns are going to take center stage for the Party in the midterm elections.

Miller isn't the only one to speak out on the socialist progressive turn of Democrats, as House Speaker Mike Johnson warned that the wins meant communism is now "on our own shores," as per Fox News.  However, Mamdani has asserted that the party will strive to focus on the issues of working Americans and affordability. While the common criticism of Democratic socialism has been that its proponents put their ideological interests before matters of effective governance, supporters are hopeful that Mamdani and others will work the two hand in hand.

Furthermore, in their campaigns, Democrats across the country have responded to the anger felt by communities over the Trump administration's clampdown on immigration. Democratic lawmakers have repeatedly tried to rein in ICE by blocking funds to DHS and causing the longest government shutdown in history, with a demand for stronger oversight on immigration enforcement.

Like Miller, other Republicans have also raised concerns over Democrats expanding the membership of the Supreme Court, which is why the House of Representatives Judiciary Committee, on a straight party-line vote,  passed a proposed constitutional amendment to freeze the court at nine justices, according to The Hill.

While it is true that many leading Democrats, including former Vice President Kamala Harris, have welcomed the notion of expanding the court, adding more seats would be unpacking the court, as it has been strategically stacked by the administration with favorable justices, creating a conservative supermajority, as per the publication.
