Canadian journalist Mark Slapinski took an indirect swipe at the Trump administration on Thursday in a post on X. He stated that it was okay to be a homosexual, transgender, or Black, but it was not okay to commit sexual crimes against children with Jeffrey Epstein. Slapinski, who has recently applauded Hunter Biden's journey to sobriety, has been a vocal critic of the United States government under President Donald Trump. As far as Epstein accusations go, he believes that a former Miami Beach mayor could face a Justice Department probe.

"The former mayor of Miami Beach could face CRIMINAL CHARGES for raping girls with Jeffrey Epstein," he wrote as he shared a Miami New Times report claiming that the House Oversight Committee was seeking a Department of Justice (DOJ) investigation into former Miami Beach Mayor Philip Levine. The committee is seeking a DOJ intervention after a former Epstein assistant said that Levine was one of the men who had abused her.

As per an official release, the victim, Sarah Kellen, made the allegations during an interview, and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform Chairman James Comer (R-Ky.) and Republican lawmakers sent a letter to Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche to look into the matter. "During her transcribed interview, the Oversight Committee received serious allegations of criminal misconduct involving two individuals," said Comer.

"We are referring these allegations to the Department of Justice, which has the tools to investigate criminal misconduct. We will continue to follow the facts and ensure accountability for survivors," he added. Blanche, however, has been facing criticism over the Justice Department's handling of the Epstein files, half of which are yet to be released despite an official order. Former Attorney General Pam Bondi, in a closed-door hearing with the House Oversight Committee, claimed that Blanche was in charge of releasing the files, as per CNN.

Blanche, however, maintains that the DOJ is doing everything possible to ensure that justice is delivered to the victims. "If there is a narrative that exists that we are ignoring Epstein victims, that is false," he said on 'The Katie Miller Podcast'. "If you are a victim, if you are a victim's lawyer, you can contact the FBI, you can contact the DOJ, and we will do everything we can to investigate anything you have to say, which is what we always do."

Democrats, however, are not buying it. Rep. Robert Garcia, a ranking member of the House Oversight Committee, which interviewed Bondi, is still asking questions about the three million Epstein files that have not been released by the DOJ. "There is no question that, whether it was Todd Blanche or Pam Bondi or anyone else, there is a White House cover-up trying to protect the President, Mar-a-Lago, and those who were involved as co-conspirators in the Epstein files. We cannot take Todd Blanche's word. We need to actually see all of the files. We are demanding for them to be continued to release," he said in an interview with MS Now.
