Former Congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene admonished the Trump administration in a blistering post on X, accusing officials of using the UFO file release as "shiny object" propaganda to distract from "unnecessary wars," lack of arrests in the Jeffrey Epstein case, and a devalued dollar.

She is referring to the defense department releasing a batch of 162 files related to Unidentified Anomalous Phenomena (UAP), following a directive by President Donald Trump. The initial data set includes high-resolution sensor readings, cockpit transcripts, and internal correspondence that have been withheld from public view for decades.

Greene, who served as the House representative from Georgia's 14th congressional district, wrote that she does not care about the UFO files at a time when the federal government wages "foreign wars", lets "rapist and pedophiles run free", and ruins the dollar's value.

She quipped that the government may need to "roll out live aliens" and "test demo UFOs" for her to stop and take notice. Greene, who resigned from her post in January 2026 after being elected thrice (2020, 2022, and 2024), pointed out that "the most transparent administration in history still hasn’t released all the Epstein files or arrested anyone".

The release, as per Greene, is a ploy to make Americans forget that they are paying over $4.50 per gallon of gas due to a "foreign war" that Trump had vowed to avoid while seeking his reelection in 2024.

This marks yet another instance of Greene, a sworn conservative, breaking away from the Republican party line to heap severe criticism upon the Trump administration. The rift began last year when Trump urged her not to press for the release of Epstein files while she was still in Congress.

Green recently leveled a series of accusations against the Trump administration, characterizing its "war-and-peace" theatre with Iran as a manufactured ploy to facilitate insider trading for a privileged elite. They came in the wake of suspiciously timed crude oil shorts worth $920 million, placed minutes before a report claimed that the U.S. and Iran were nearing a peace deal to end the war.

Not everyone shared Greene’s skepticism; the administration found support for the disclosure from an unlikely source: Chuck Schumer. The Senate minority leader wrote that disclosures around UFOs have been a "distant object" for decades. "That’s starting to change. I’ll keep pushing until we land on the truth," he posted from his account on X.

Meanwhile, Rep. Tim Burchett (R-TN) stated that Trump stood up to the deep state with the release of the UFO files. "The 1st drop will be big, but in comparison to what is coming they will be a drop in the bucket. I would say “Holy Cr*p” is coming," he added.
