Should Our Fear Stop Us From Moving Forward In Life?

Everyone has fears. The difference is whether we hold our fears, or they hold us.

Life can be turbulent.

Things happen, circumstances change, and nothing ever stays the same. We can use our challenges as an opportunity to grow, learn, and evolve ourselves. We can use change to practice our adaptability.

Is our fear of change justified? At times, perhaps.

Should our fear stop us from moving forward in life? Absolutely not.

If we want to wait to quell our fears, we may end up waiting forever. The more focus we give to our fears, the more our fears grow and multiply.

Everyone has fears. The difference is whether we hold our fears, or they hold us.

Step over your fear and into action. The more you practice this, the more often you practice this, the easier it will become.

You don’t have to start by making life-changing decisions. You can start small. Start by breaking out of your comfort zone. Challenge yourself to try something new. Or, do something in a new way. Do a little something new and different every day.

Develop a new relationship with fear.

Yes, it may have been scary to do something different. But, was it so bad? Was it worth that much fear?

Reclaim your curiosity, your sense of adventure, and have some fun. Don’t take every moment of your life so seriously. Allow yourself to enjoy life.

You may think you don’t have the courage to act.

But, courage is much like fear. If you want to wait until you have complete courage, you may end up waiting forever. If you allow it, the mind can think of a million excuses of why you can’t or shouldn’t.

Sometimes, you will act because you realize you must. Other times, you will face a choice. The choice is always the same: Attempt to stay where you are or move forward. But, the choice ‘to stay where you are’ never truly exists. Everything changes. Change is inevitable. The only difference is whether you make the decision of what you will do next, or whether life or circumstances will make that decision for you. Either way, the decision will always be made.

By force or by choice, there will be change.

If you want to build a successful life, learning to step over your fears and to act without courage are necessary. Nothing is a guarantee. Everything is a risk. There is no life without risk. Not even tomorrow is promised.

It comes down to realizing that you are the one who holds the power. You either use that power to step forward, or you can give that power away.

The more adaptable to change you become, the more you practice acting with fear and without courage, the less those will be a distraction to you. Instead of being clouded by fear, worry, and stress, you will be able to see beyond. You will see new opportunities, new potential, both in the moment and in yourself. You will no longer stand in your own way. You will no longer be allowing fear to confine your potential.

Stop letting fear take over your life. Reclaim your life. Reclaim your power.

You deserve to live life to the fullest!

Fear, Fear…. NOT,,, step forward, yes. Try something new, drive a different way to work a prettier ride,
make that call, visit that friend. Don’t wait for that phone call; call them first. Send that card, put down the cell phone or turn it off. Look UP the sky is beautiful in the day OR the night time. Smlle at everyone…it is contagious and makes us all feel better. Yes be real, be honest, be YOU and let fear disappear……..

I really admire your sophistication and your excellent writing skills! Sometimes fear can be a good thing! Fear can be our best ally and in many circumstances it can protect us from evil people who only pretend to want what’s best for us but in reality they only aim for the destruction of our souls! Captain Fear will give us wings to fly far away to a beautiful place where love and peace exist! Thank you Akiroq for your inspiring article! 🙏🙏👑👑🏆🏆🎖🏅🥇🌟⭐️✨🌻🌹🌹🌹

I get irrational fears about things often. Especially travelling and neighbours, or running out of money or things going wrong in the house. I’ve tried to control it, ignore it or try to overcome it, but it stays with me. I hate public transport. It could be the feeling that someone else is in control of me by driving that bus “their” way or route. Or a touch of claustrophobia, the feeling of people being ill or seeing me ill. The whole thing horrifies me. Before I go out, I rehearse all this in my head, then talk myself out of going anywhere. I don’t know why. I’ve become more fearful as I got older. It limits my activities.

Fear shouldn’t stop us from moving forward, otherwise we will be trapped in fear. If we are meant to move forward, we will anyway. It depends what kind of fear and what we are moving forward too. Fear can be a defence mechanism, a driving force or just a hindrance. What’s to be will be. I wouldn’t allow fear to stop me moving to a better place in my Soul. I would face it head on, and try to overcome obstacles now, but everyone is different. Having said that, I have a fear of public transport which is a pain when I have to travel to my Son’s house. I’ve made the journey many a time, but it never gets easier. Now I’m at the stage where I’m pretty much refusing to go, or make excuses as to why I can’t make it. This deprives me of enjoying a visit to see everyone. There is another reason which isn’t fear, it’s experience. Sometimes fear can prevent us from doing certain things but, if we can’t get over it, life can be pretty limited. Opportunities can slip past. As I’m typing, I’m remembering that fear “has” stopped me in my tracks of making progress in the past, but I regret not tackling this fear earlier. What is fear? Is it fear or phobia? I guess it’s not that easy to fight fear. If it’s a level of fear that is within our coping abilities, we can overcome them in time and move on, it’s not too daunting. But if you have a mountain to climb, like me, we should really get into a place in our heads whereby we can and try to beat it. If it’s a chance of feeling much better, sometimes it’s worth going through the process. Just focus on the prize.

Thanks for this encouraging words. I cannot say that fear is holding me, it’s the time that is probably taking the toll in me to make changes. In this time of my life, I may not be able to start something else co’z of my age. There are times I feel think that I have done this or done that in my younger days, but that’s all I can do.
