My clean canvas is me laying in a hammock on a tropical beach with the waves lapping at my foot dangling… The feeling of warmth and the taste of salt and the sounds of waves crashing the shore…

Do you suppose that the butterfly has any concept of how many lessons it teaches through it’s examples? #influence

I doubt the butterfly knows how to be anything other than beautiful..

I’ve been trapped in a body of illness this year. I have been trying to stay positive but I’m losing. I am having trouble getting on with my life, even though it’s different now. I’m the same inside but disabled on the out.

I believe that when something happens to us, be it through an illness or disability, which then places restraints on our free movements and abilities; which in turn impacts on the lives we are so used to living, the mind reveals itself to be incredibly slow to catch up with the changes that have taken place; holding hard and fast to the hardwired version of our ‘known’ lifestyles. It’s a rough and tough business to adapt — for the mind and body to be in perfect unison. It is important to recognise that people, regardless of their illnesses or disabilities, can go on to leading amazing lives. So, it really does become an endeavour, a life’s mission to first adapt and then excel. You state you feel the same person inside, and you always will.. You need to rewire the way your mind thinks about YOU, in the now, and about the amazing life you can still have, but which has to be tailored to a new and unique situation. You are not less a person for facing change, because every change we face in life, that we conquer is a personal triumph. A triumph that should never be compared to another, and certainly not to our former YOU — the person you used to be, because that is not playing fair. That is a competition you will never beat. So, look at your challenges square in the eye and decide they will not beat you because you are going to meet them; knock them down, one by one. I wish you every success going forward. 😊
