Some people cannot love you the way you want to be loved because they are emotionally and spiritually frozen. They recoil from or avoid affection. You will never meet a deep penetrating gaze from their shallow eyes; only a surface glance. They will touch your hand with their hand, but never with their heart. They will serve your body but not your soul. They can only connect with you through utility, but never passion. If you need cupcakes or a jar opened, they are perfect; if you need compassion or wisdom, you are all alone. They are only a person as society made them, not as nature intended them. They live life so perfectly but know nothing of life at all. They did everything they were told to be a good person but are hardly a person at all. They are empty. They are dead inside. They will break your heart if you let them. They are usually very judgmental. They see themselves as nice but are often mean and cold. They feel themselves superior. They think everything they do is exactly the way it is supposed to be done. They are repeaters. They lack original thought. If you challenge their slumber with awakened thoughts, they will panic and flee. They will make you feel crazy because they only believe what the masses believe. They are the embodiment of the masses because they have not become their own individual person. Individuation is an attainment of spiritual maturity — frighteningly seldom attained in today’s world. You cannot change these people. They are trapped inside of themselves; stunted. You will waste your whole life waiting for them to wake-up to the treasure of what you have to offer. You cannot snap them out of their sleep. Often, only a tragic event will possibly awaken them. Sometimes they awaken during a painful life transition. Some awaken on their deathbeds. Some sadly never awaken to their deeper potential for self-knowledge, intimacy, expressions of feeling and knowing love. Maybe you know someone like this. Or, maybe it’s you. Maybe you’re dead inside and don’t even know it.
I know someone with so many of these details but I also am afraid to become this I really don’t !

Wow is sad the way my ex drain me I was always stress out I did love him but if they don’t love themself they don’t love no one . They need help. But don’t realize it. You right this emotion I had was stressing my life in my heart I felt their was some wrong it didn’t feel right I am with god I go to church I pray for everyone evil people cannot win or get away with their life destroy I ng people heart or your emotions. After reading some of the posts, particularly about loving someone like this and wanting or continuing to help them, I believe there are those who are dead inside who only hurt themselves (with patience, love, and self-sacrifice, there is the possiblity they may be helped), and then there is the other type who need to hurt others. It’s important to know the difference if only for your own sanity.

Trying to make someone who is dead inside go back to the light… Maybe I’m wrong for trying to… To hell with it, I am insane and he is my twin soul. It seems hopeless, yet I feel like it is my calling to do it (wouldn’t you bring back someone once you know they are a part of yourself?) so I am pursuing what feels obvious in my core.

I’m stuck….. My spouse left 2 months ago and everything you’ve said is point on with how things have been. I read the posts everyday. This place, group is my new home. When I’m not reviewing or keeping tabs on posts I fall victim to feeling helpless, lost, alone…my only safe haven is through communication with the group. I get put back on track of my self worth. I draw strength from everyone here. It’s the only time I’m at peace. Because where I’m at in this world is pretty negative…. The people, such a clash of individuals and I feel so out of place. Unfortunately, for many, pain caused them to be that way, so any pain or tragic loss or event experienced is only a temporary awakening. Eventually they revert back into themselves. It’s important to appear good but not be good. Hate is all they know, and another’s pain and suffering is their oxygen.

AMEN to all the #truth you just shared. A friend and I were speaking of this today, oh how draining and toxic this type of person is. I know someone like this, and he has hurt many, but in reality he has hurt himself more than anybody in this world and doesn’t see it. Fleeing from this person is what’s best for everyone he comes in contact with, unless as you said he is needed for something that truly doesn’t require much of anything.

We so easily sling judgements on others, yet we don’t want judgements levied against us when we change our ideals. Everyone just wants acceptance. Accepting others is really about accepting yourself, because when you accept others you are freed from your own inner-conflict. When you quit judging others you can be your true-self, rather than being emotionally embroiled with other people’s lifestyles and beliefs. Your spiritual journey is about freedom, but not just your freedom — everyone’s freedom.

Anxiety is intrinsic to life because the current social construct is such a fraud. In order to play the fraudulent game of modern life one must assume an unnatural and fraudulent role; the role of an anti-human.
Each person is bound tightly in a morally isometric strait-jacket of contradiction; a psychic contortion that leaves the hobbled soul jittering between impossible and unnatural forms of human being. The goodly and civic role is an anti-human posture, where the wild untamed soul is splayed upon the mental rack, like medieval torture, to bend and shunt the frighteningly splendid phenomenon of a free form soul, into an unnatural state, to thereafter be called, natural. I call this, the unnatural natural.
The unnatural natural is similar to Alan Watts’ “social double-blind game,” of which its’ first rule, is that it is not a game, with further contradictory rules, such as, “everyone must play” (or else), and, “be yourself, but play an acceptable role,” and “control yourself, but be natural,” and, “try to be sincere.” These are all M.C. Escher-like impossible staircases into higher and more peaceful states of consciousness for individuals and society, for the rules of this game, are unsolvable puzzles, that keep us all in a constant state of anxiety.
To escape our anxiety we must make peace with the contradictions, and ultimately our true nature. Though not commonly considered, there are many non-fiction applications of suspension of disbelief — such as faith; accepting imagination as a part and form of reality; shedding the ego by forgetting oneself, and healing the affliction of adultism to commune with your vast inner-child or inner-savage. Your inner-child, like the truly natural newborn; a sort of aboriginal proto-human — unbound and god-like, is born into a cultural cocktail of sedation, constriction and programming, called, love. Her natural curiosity and playful interface of innocence, only forgivable as a child, is what is seen in adults as hedonism, or insanity. All loss of power begins with shame and what is deemed bad in our nature.
What society hates and fears most is nature and truth, especially when observed in people. Only the unnatural is desirable in people, for the unnatural is safe, manageable and productive. This constriction is a form of self-hatred. The ultimate abomination and falsehood to the false construct is truth, and real freedom. And so, bondage shall be called freedom, and falsehood called truth, and evil called good — this inverted reality keeps the secret hidden in plain sight; in moral certainty, where none will dare look. This is why it is important to question things and ask “why?”, but most importantly, question yourself. Challenge yourself. Be defiant; defy yourself. Challenge authority; the authority of your own rational convictions!
Meditation can put you in touch with your less strictured and structured self; to glimpse the source of your true power and formless state. The profane and shattered self, your truth, is a disassembly of the anti-human persona, slightly visible as you submerge through the layers of abstraction by releasing thought, through willful dissociation or controlled insanity. Meditation allows you to visit your aboriginal forbidden places and return with archetypes and artifacts of wisdom unknown in the common culture. From Joseph Conrad to Joseph Campbell, this journey and return; a dipping into the dark well of consciousness, is alluded to in allegory and with great explicitness throughout all literature.

I’ve been contemplating the possibility that society has become to value the synthetic to the real because at some point it became too much of something and it changes a persons truth or perception of the truth…where euphoria is the synthetic and controlled version of love when true and pure love is the most euphoric one could imagine and the human mind doesn’t have to compacity to accept it or it is feared because is is unknown…it is merely accepted as truth…to be happy or in love a person experiences a euphoric feeling they carry with them in everyday life whether that person is there or not. We cannot control anyone or anything and Whem we accept what is and what becomes of us we will find peace and magic… Humans don’t believe in magic anymore which also saddens me. I am an artist and I feel things much deeper than most of the people I know. I am also entering into the human service field because of my past experiences I want to be the person I needed when I was and as I struggle to make the world a better place for my girls and their children. I am looking to put my stamp on the world but struggle to fit the mold!! I believe I can and so I will!’ That’s is the truth we all must accept. Positive psychologists that I have come across in my studies toward a bachelors in psychology, have taught me that there is power in a positive thought as long as the person accepts it as truth

My free spirit has been trampled on but hope faith and love are alive in me today and keep me going. By reconnecting society we will be able to cure things like alcoholism and addiction!! With acceptance, anxiety is cleared away. Havin faith in oneself for the knowledge and the truth as each of us understand it!!! Perception is where our reality lays…

Accepting a person who is not consistent is difficult because it means you cannot depend on them to have unchanging values and ideas, which is another way of saying you cannot “understand” them. People often want to “understand” others to “know their place” for strategic self-positioning, which is ultimately about control and safeguarding their advantage. If you make a big life-change it may literally shatter those around you because they can only accept and “love” you “their way.” They may judge you as unstable, but really they are unstable, which is why they may fall-apart as you move forward. It is really their illusion of knowing and control that has ended. The inconsistent person is free, and freedom is really what people fear most. Who says you have to be the same person tomorrow that you are today? It is a ridiculous notion. Change is inevitable. Your personal and spiritual evolution will always be seen as a betrayal by those whose values you abandon. You have a right to change your values, beliefs, and ideas. The discomfort you feel when you attempt to change is just the social control that surrounds you becoming more obvious and bearing down on you. There is nothing more spiritual than freedom and it is very spiritual to violate old beliefs for new values.
OMYGOD this is what I try to tell certain people in my life Bryant!! Do you ever feel compelled to help a person even if they don’t ask for your help because you see that that person can have a better life and it’s so obvious the choices they can make to have that better life and yet, they’re literally drowning in their self-inflicted problems because they choose to do the opposite of the advice you give them? It’s a hard lesson to learn knowing that a person would rather choose pride over doing what is right for them…. people can only save themselves or change when they’re ready to, sometimes you just have to pray for the best.
I like to view it as ,”growth”, instead of ,”change”. I am , who I Am.
Possibly , growing in different directions at times, but growing ,none the less.
I believe living life by allowing feeling of emotions brings experience, which brings wisdom. Sober life. No running to or from , stuffing or abusing , people, places or things. Showing up for the life lessons.
The most wise individuals know that they know nothing.
We are here to grow together with purpose, passion and fellowship .
It is wonderful to learn through books but the true value of life experience (through feeling) brings us to Love of self, self-Love, self-care,self-worth, and acceptance in our own truth, everchanging as we grow….. eternally.

There are ways to live life that some people are not even aware exists. People who have had little self-reflection live life in a huge reality blind-spot. They truly believe that life is a certain way when it actually isn’t. It is like a sad inside joke that everyone is aware of, but them. They think they have it all figured out. They really believe they are “good” people. They do everything right — on the surface. They are responsible, friendly, pay their bills and work hard. They put food on the table for their families. They have good credit scores, don’t speed and keep a clean house. But something is missing. It is so “missing” they don’t even know it’s missing. This is the calamity of a conformed life, devoid of self-inquiry and introspection.
