Feeling so joyous! We had a wonderful concert at the Catalina Jazz Club in Los Angeles. Lots of friends and family came out to help Scherrie Payne (my Supreme sister and Joyce Vincent (Formerly of Tony Orlando and Dawn) celebrate. It was our first big event as a group in Los Angeles and we were delighted at the outcome. We got three standing ovations! So much fun.
On the 26th of the month we appeared at the Raw Science Film Festival at the fabulous Ace Hotel Theater in downtown L.A., which was built by Charlie Chaplain, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. and Mary Pickford, who were the biggest stars of their day. They started the Academy Awards and built this wondrous theater to view films with their friends and family. What an amazing event, thanks to founder and creator Keri Kukral, which celebrated the 50th anniversary of the Moonwalk. Dance-cultural icon Lil Buck Da Legend, shared his phenomenal gift with us to “SwanLake”. We sang “Everybody Gets to go to the Moon”/”Corner of the Sky”, our new single “Unconditional Love”, which I wrote and produced with Jeffrey Chin, and “You Keep Me Hanging On”. What a great audirnce. It was the 5th annual RSFF; I was a judge again this year, and what a wonderful field of films this year. Young filmakers and professionals from around the globe came out to revel in the glory of the science community and the film community, hear some good music and see wonderful performances, and to pick up their awards. To get the opportunity to chat with some of the world’s great scientists, like Nobel Prize Winner for his gravitational waves (2018) Kip Thorne and film makers like “Revenge of the Nerds” producer Peter Samuelson is pure joy for a STEAM advocate like me. I’m looking forward to what’s to come this year. There’s much planned that is stunning in scope and depth. I’m very excited. Our new single “Unconditional Love” is out, and I’m thrilled at the response we are getting. Lots of rehearsal ahead, cause we’re are heading around the globe. Love to all of you. Hope to see you along the way. Love from Susaye
